This app is designed to teach shape and colour recognition by allowing the child to interactively create objects with the shapes and colours that they choose. They learn direction by moving their shape up, down, left and right.
This app comes in 3 languages:
As you click on each command button, you hear the command voice and the shapes changes accordingly.
Being able to interactively create, change and move the shapes gives the child some control within the app, allowing learning to take place at their own pace.
The speech / voice control feature which allows the child to voice a command into the microphone in order to change the shape, colour or location of the object. This feature encourages clear diction and appropriate volume of speech and is also useful for those with fine motor challenges.
At this time (Nov 2013), the voice control feature is only available through Google Chrome Browser desktop and Google Chrome Browser for Android.
You are able to use the microphone. Click it to start speaking into the microphone. If the command word is pronounced correctly, the shape will change.
You are NOT able to use the microphone.
The microphone is active waiting for speech input.
