When it comes to respect, I tink it is one of the most important things, especially in school, but Tommy didn’t think that way. It started back in 1991, Tommy and Eric remember it like it was yetreday. Back then Tommy was one of the “cool kids”, although at the time a more proper classification for Tommy would have been stuck up. The only friends Tommy had were the other kids that were exactlyt like him, stuck up, naive, and close minded. There were other kids that were exactly the opposite of Tommy, and if you weren’t like Tommy then you were a loser in just about everyone’s eyes. A prime example of someone like this would be Eric. Eric was exactl the opposite of Tommy, although they were worst enemies, they ironicly had the exact same schedual. Tommy was a loud mouth type of kid and was always making fun of Eric. Eric on the other hand, ould just close himself off from the world until the insults stopped.

The fire began February 3, 1991, but Tommy and Eric still remember the smell of the burning room. Their 4th period class had taken a trip to the library so everyone could check out a book. Eric had already checked out his book and was reading quietly while Tommy was sitting with his friends yelling his head off. Suddenly, the 3rd bookshelf over burst up into flames, almost immediatley setting the next two bookshelves over into flames. Inthe panic to leave the room, one of Tommy’s “friends” knocked him to the floor, Tommy hit his head and blacked out.

When Tommy awoke, everyone had already left the building. Tommy knew that he had to get out of the building fast because soon enough, the entire building would be engulfed in flames. But as soon as Tommy tried to get up, a pain like he had never felt anything like before, rocketed up his leg like lightning. Tommy looked down to see a smashed ankle and the heavy antiuqe table he had been sitting at resting were what was left of his ankle was.
